Easy BBQ Shrimp Recipe | Heath Riles BBQ

Shrimp is one of my favorite things to cook on the grill because it cooks quickly and soaks up the flavor of whatever you pair it with. This recipe is perfect for any shrimp lover who also adores good BBQ, as it includes multiple BBQ sauces and BBQ shrimp seasoning blends.

Many people wonder, “How do you BBQ shrimp?” The truth is, it’s not that different from cooking shrimp on a stovetop. Timing is everything, and pairing your shrimp with a sauce will ensure you get a great result each time. As far as BBQ shrimp recipes go, this one is foolproof yet tastes gourmet.

The Ingredients

Here are some ingredients you’ll use to make my Easy BBQ Shrimp.

  • Bear & Burton’s W Sauce—Fireshire. This spicy take on Worcestershire sauce comes from good buddies of mine. They based their formula on an old family recipe, and the results were amazing. Add a dash to meatloaf, steaks, roasts, or burgers.
  • Killer Hogs Hot Sauce. This tasty hot sauce is unique because it contains loads of garlic, making it the perfect addition to seafood dishes, tacos, omelets, and more.
  • Heath Riles BBQ Garlic Jalapeńo Rub. This zesty blend is my bestseller, and it’s easy to see why. It’s an excellent substitute for regular salt and pepper, especially for those who adore a kick of heat. It goes great with steaks, burgers, vegetables, and popcorn.
  • Heath Riles BBQ Cajun Creole Garlic Butter Rub. This fun, Cajun-inspired rub will bring a taste of NOLA to your life. This blend is great on shrimp but can also be used in pasta, casseroles, or chicken wings.
  • Heath Riles BBQ Sweet BBQ Sauce. This sauce took over 10 years to develop and was worth every minute. I love slathering it over a rack of ribs, but you can also drizzle it on shrimp, chicken sandwiches, and more.
  • Heath Riles BBQ Tangy Vinegar BBQ Sauce. If you like vinegar-based sauces, you’ll adore this one, which is tangy without being bitter. You can use this sauce on its own or pair it with a sweeter sauce for a fun flavor combination.

The Smoker Setup

Here’s the leading equipment I used for this recipe. More of my grilling favorites are in the Equipment and Tools section.

  • Kettle Grill. I smoked this Easy BBQ Shrimp Recipe on the Weber Kettle Grill.  This petite pit is easy to store and use, as it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. You can jazz it up by purchasing fun accessories, like the Vortex Chimney, a must for two-zone fires.
  • Charcoal. I stoked the pit with Royal Oak Charcoal Super-Sized Briquettes and Royal Oak Tumbleweeds, my favorite combination for cooking at home or on the circuit. Royal Oak Charcoal is excellent because the price is right, and the charcoal doesn’t contain fillers.
